2026 colour trends: warm earth & deep accents

This year's palettes lean into warmth and groundedness. After several years of cool greys, Kenyan homes are embracing colours that echo the landscape: ochre, terracotta, clay pinks and savanna greens, sharpened with deep, confident accents.

The colours to watch

Warm earth neutrals are the new default — think baked clay and sandstone rather than beige. They flatter natural materials, warm artificial light beautifully, and pair with almost anything.

For accents, deep oxblood, forest green and inky indigo are doing the work navy did a decade ago: one feature wall, a front door, or kitchen cabinetry. Used sparingly against earth neutrals, they feel rich rather than dark.

Start with a whole-house neutral from one family so rooms flow, then commit to one saturated accent per space.
