Multiply your room's perimeter by its wall height, subtract doors and windows, then divide by the product's coverage (most Colourtrend emulsions cover 10–12 m² per litre per coat). Plan for two coats. Our online paint calculator does this for you per product.

Interior emulsions are touch-dry in about 30–60 minutes and ready for a second coat in 2–4 hours, depending on humidity and ventilation. Gloss and enamel finishes need longer — typically overnight between coats. Full hardness (cure) takes up to two weeks, so treat fresh paintwork gently.

Yes on fresh plaster, bare wood, metal and any surface changing dramatically in colour. Fresh plaster should cure for 4–6 weeks, then take a thinned first coat or plaster primer. Glossy old surfaces need sanding and an adhesion primer. On previously painted walls in good condition, two topcoats are usually enough.

Use a UV-stable exterior emulsion with mould resistance — Kenya's equatorial sun fades interior-grade paint quickly. Soft-sheen finishes shed rain and dust better than dead-matt. For coastal areas, ask about our fungicidal preparation system.

Wash off dust and grease, scrape loose or flaking paint, fill cracks and holes, sand smooth, and spot-prime repairs. Stabilise chalky exterior surfaces with a sealer first. Good preparation is the single biggest factor in how long your paint lasts.

Our interior emulsions are water-based and low-odour. Ventilate during and after painting and allow at least 24 hours before re-occupying a freshly painted bedroom. Washable matt and soft-sheen finishes stand up well to small fingerprints.
